There have been psychological studies on people who handle executions, which is literally killing a person in cold blood. And while I read this awhile ago, I believe the conclusions were the people were pretty OK in general because their minds were able to jump through the hoops needed to justify their actions in some way. Or ignore it. Or something. They ended up passing a sheriff truck who started to go after them. When we got off the freeway a few miles later another police car was zooming onto the freeway. I don't think they caught up to the car and driver for at least 10-20 miles after they passed us. In the newspaper, the driver said something about how it was just like GTA, so they blamed the videogame for doing it which helped feed into the fear that videogames cause people to act in certain ways. 13:17:44 From Tristan Call : Black screens everywhere also doesn't help 13:18:00 From Peter Jonas : @sarahbodisco 13:20:26 From Maia Tucker (she/they) : I had the same problem with my parents lol I would get yelled at cause I wouldn't go outside, I'd just stay in reading 13:21:22 From Megan Rice (she/her) : my mom was an english major in college so my reading was absolutely unrestricted for better or worse 13:22:03 From Maia Tucker (she/they) : war and peace was so boring and not worth reading, change my mind 13:22:12 From Tristan Call : Do people mass consume high literacy books though? 13:22:41 From Maia Tucker (she/they) : AGAB (assigned gamer at birth) 13:22:52 From Sarah Bodisco : poor Nate and Peter 13:23:33 From Megan Rice (she/her) : Minecraft can be highly creative 13:23:38 From Rachel Evard : Mario kart 13:23:42 From Sarah Bodisco : Nintendogs 13:23:46 From Maia Tucker (she/they) : TETRIS 13:24:37 From Sarah Bodisco : My dad punched and broke a TV trying my sisters VR for the first tim 13:26:08 From Makenna Girard (She/Her) : If your psychiatrist prescribes you meds within 15 minutes of knowing you, in person or virtually, you need a different psychiatrist 13:26:21 From Makenna Girard (She/Her) : thats incredibly unethical and anti-GCP 13:35:50 From Paloma Whitworth (she/her) : It reminds me of the 3D tv….
